Centurion grew up in the gap between Johannesburg and Pretoria, and today it's a mix of established family suburbs and gated golf estates — Highveld, Irene, Eldoraigne, Wierda Park, Rooihuiskraal and Cornwall Hill among them. It's leafy, good-looking country. It also sits on some of the trickiest ground in Gauteng.

Is dolomite really a problem for paving in Centurion?
It isn't a problem if the paving is built for it. The risk on dolomite comes from concentrated water soaking into the ground, so we lay everything to a firm fall, carry stormwater to a proper outlet, and keep run-off away from the house and boundary. Done right, a paved surface actually helps by controlling exactly where the water goes.
My driveway keeps cracking — why?
Around Centurion it's usually one of two things: expansive clay moving under a base that was never dug deep or compacted enough, or water undermining the base on dolomitic ground. New pavers on the same weak base will crack again. We dig out and rebuild the base to suit the ground, which is the only lasting fix.
Can you work within our estate's building rules?
