Commercial paving
From the front entrance to the back delivery bay, the paving on a business property takes a beating and still has to look the part. We pave offices, retail centres, guesthouses and body corporates across Gauteng — traffic-rated blocks, proper drainage, and work phased around your trading hours so you never have to shut the doors.

Overview
Your surfaces are working before the first customer arrives — the delivery bakkie at six, staff parking filling by eight, foot traffic across the forecourt all day. Cracked or puddling paving doesn't only look neglected; it's a slip claim and a maintenance bill waiting to happen.
Commercial paving is a pillar of what we do, from a small office forecourt to a full retail-centre car park. The finish matters — a clean, level entrance and forecourt sets the tone for every visitor — but what protects your money is underneath: a base compacted for the loads your site actually carries, extended to your walkways and courtyards.
Most of all, we plan the job around your trading. Phased sections, after-hours shifts and weekend work keep the doors open and the parking usable while we go. You get a fixed written quote, our own teams on site, and a finish guaranteed in writing.
In detail
Two things separate a job that lasts from a job that fails early: the groundwork, and the timing.
A staff car park and a delivery route are not a garden path. We excavate to solid ground, then build a compacted G5 sub-base in layers, each vibrated with a plate compactor before the next goes down. For heavy-vehicle areas we specify an 80mm interlocking block in herringbone — the pattern spreads the load and resists the shove of turning, braking trucks. Warehouses and loading zones with constant heavy plant run better as industrial paving, and we'll flag it if your site needs that spec.
Standing water on a commercial surface is a liability twice over: it undermines the base from below and puts staff and customers on a slippery patch. We lay every area to a deliberate fall, and where a forecourt or car park is enclosed we design in channel drains and catchpits so a summer downpour clears instead of ponding at the door.
Very few businesses can afford to shut for a week. We section the work so part of your car park stays open while we pave the rest, cordon the live areas properly, and run after-hours or weekend shifts where the site allows. You keep trading; we keep moving.
The paving at your door is the first thing a client sees. Crisp edge restraints, a defined kerb line, a contrasting border and clean cuts around bollards and manhole covers make a commercial entrance look deliberate rather than patched together — and they keep the field of pavers locked tight for years.
| Area | Recommended paver | Typical thickness | Best pattern |
|---|---|---|---|
| Office & retail walkways / forecourts | Interlocking / large-format | 50–60 mm | Herringbone / stretcher |
| Customer & staff parking | Heavy-duty interlocking | 60–80 mm | Herringbone |
| Delivery bays & truck routes | Heavy-duty interlocking | 80 mm | Herringbone |
| Entrances & feature areas | Cobble / clay brick | 50–60 mm | Herringbone / basketweave |
Guidance only. We confirm the right spec on site, based on your traffic, slope and soil.
Benefits
A surface that carries the load, sheds the water and still looks the part on year ten.
01
A level, clean forecourt and entrance tells clients and tenants the business is well run before anyone says a word.
02
Traffic-rated blocks on a compacted base carry cars, bakkies and delivery trucks without rutting where the wheels track.
03
Correct falls and drainage mean no ponding, no slick patches and one less liability across your property.
04
A stained or damaged block lifts out and is replaced. A poured slab has to be cut, broken and re-cast.
05
Phased sections and after-hours shifts keep your doors open and your parking usable while the work runs.
06
A written quote with no surprises, billed the way a business needs it — order numbers, VAT invoice, the lot.

Why us for this
A business job has moving parts a home job doesn't: live traffic, tenants, security and someone who has to answer for the disruption. The last thing you need is a contractor who disappears mid-project or hands the work to a crew you've never met.
Our own teams run the job start to finish across Gauteng — you can see where we work on our areas we serve page. One point of contact, one programme, and a written guarantee on the base and the installation.

Our process
Planned around your trading, with a programme you sign off before we start.
01
We assess traffic, drainage and access, agree what has to stay open, and hand you an itemised written price.
02
We map the job into sections and schedule after-hours or weekend shifts where they keep you trading.
03
Dig out, build and compact the G5 sub-base in layers, set falls and fit edge restraints and channels.
04
Pavers laid to pattern, cut in, vibrated down, jointing sand swept in and the area handed back clean and open.
They repaved our guesthouse forecourt and parking in three weekends so we never turned a guest away. Two years on it's still level and the drains cope with every storm. Proper professionals.

Timing, disruption, pavers, invoicing and upkeep — the things a facilities manager asks first.
Send a photo of the site on WhatsApp and we'll often give you a ballpark before we visit.
WhatsApp a photoYes. On most commercial sites we run after-hours and weekend shifts, or phase the work section by section, so your business keeps trading throughout. We agree the schedule with you upfront and work to it.
Far less than most people expect. We section the job so part of your car park or entrance stays open while we work on the rest, cordon the live areas properly for safety, and keep access clear for staff, customers and deliveries. You'll rarely lose a full day of normal operation.
For car parks, delivery bays and truck routes we use a heavy-duty 80mm interlocking block laid in herringbone on a compacted G5 sub-base. The thickness and the pattern spread the load and resist the shift caused by turning, braking vehicles. Lighter foot-traffic areas like walkways can drop to 50–60mm.
We do a free site assessment and give you a fixed, itemised written quote — no hourly surprises. Once you approve it we can work to your order number and issue a proper VAT invoice on completion, or by phase for larger projects. Payment terms are agreed before we start.
We do. Commercial paving needs the occasional joint-sand top-up, a re-level of any settled section and a re-lay where a service trench has been dug. We can look after that as a once-off or on a regular basis — see our paving repairs and maintenance service.
As a guide, supplied and laid commercial paving runs from about R220 per m² and rises with the paver grade, the sub-base needed and after-hours work. Every site is different, so the only accurate figure is the fixed quote we give you after the site visit — and it's free.
