Estate access and architectural rules

A large share of our Fourways work sits inside boomed estates — Dainfern, Cedar Lakes, Craigavon and the smaller clusters off William Nicol Drive. Getting a crew onto site means visitor registration, sometimes an induction, and a paver colour set by the estate's architectural guidelines. We sort the paperwork with the estate or body corporate before we load the bakkie, and keep to whatever access hours apply.

Matching paving that's already down

Fourways isn't a new suburb any more, and plenty of our Lonehill, Douglasdale and Broadacres call-outs are additions to paving that's ten or twenty years old — a garage extension, a new gate, a patio tying into an existing walkway. Getting the paver, colour and pattern to read as one job rather than two is routine for us, and where the original brick is discontinued we'll suggest the closest match or a border that makes the join look deliberate.

Clay soil, slopes and drainage

The ground under Fourways is the same expansive Highveld clay found across Gauteng, swelling and shrinking with the seasons in every estate alike. Add stands that slope toward the lower, wetter ground on the suburb's northern and western edges, and falls stop being optional. We excavate to the right depth, compact a proper sub-base in layers, and lay every driveway and patio to a deliberate slope that clears storm water toward the street, not your neighbour's wall.
